# Account email address already in use

You are trying to set an account email address that another account already has.

## Common causes

- Another account already has this email address.
- The address differs from another account's only by characters that Paddle treats as equivalent, such as letter case or accents.

## Common solutions

- Use an email address that no other account has.
- If the address should belong to this account, change it on the account that currently has it first.
