## Details

| Attribute | Value |
| --- | --- |
| Status code | 400 |
| Error code | `transaction_manual_allowance_not_allowed` |
| Error message | This transaction is collected manually and has recurring items where the price has allowances, which isn't allowed. |

## Common causes

- The request creates a transaction with `collection_mode` set to `manual`, and one or more of the items have a price with `allowances`.

## Common solutions

- Set `collection_mode` to `automatic`. The customer pays using Paddle Checkout, and the resulting subscription renews automatically using their saved payment method.
- Remove the items whose price has `allowances`, or replace them with items whose price doesn't have `allowances`.
- Remove `allowances` from the price, then try your request again.
