Build trust using custom subdomains
Personalize your hosted checkout URLs with custom subdomains to create a seamless, branded experience that builds customer confidence and improves conversion rates.
What's new?
You can now add custom subdomains to your Paddle account and use them for hosted checkouts. Instead of directing customers to pay.paddle.io
, you can create a branded checkout experience with URLs like aeroedit.paddle.io
, helping customers feel confident they're in the right place.
This feature is available in early access for all sandbox accounts now. It's scheduled to be released on live accounts in Q4 2025.
To get access to custom subdomains on your live account ahead of general release, join our early access program. Fill out the form to join the waitlist and we'll reach out when space is available.
How it works
Previously, all hosted checkouts links opened in pay.paddle.io
or sandbox-pay.paddle.io
. This worked well, but could create friction for customers who might hesitate when redirected to an unfamiliar domain during checkout.
Now, you can add up to 10 custom subdomains to your account and use them to brand your hosted checkout links. When customers click through to complete their purchase, they'll see your company or app name in the URL, creating a more seamless experience.
Custom subdomains help bridge the gap between your app and the checkout flow, reducing cart abandonment and building the confidence customers need to complete their purchase.
To keep the Paddle platform safe for everyone, custom subdomains have to be approved by Paddle before you can use them. You'll get an email from the Paddle team to let you know when your subdomain has been approved.
Next steps

It's a non-breaking change, meaning your existing hosted checkout URLs continue to work exactly as before. You can migrate to custom subdomains at your own pace.
