About your vendor account & sandbox

Introduction

Paddle has two environments:

Environment	Summary	Sign-Up	Login
Live	Sometimes referred to as 'Production', this is where all setup must be completed to start selling products. For access, a vendor account is required.	Sign-up form	Log in to live
Sandbox	Used for testing and evaluation - any setup completed here does not affect your live environment. For access, a sandbox account is required.	Sign-up form	Log in to sandbox

To begin testing/evaluating Paddle immediately, all you need is a sandbox account. Once you decide that you're ready to start selling with Paddle, you should create a vendor account.

How do I sign up for a Paddle sandbox account?

To sign up for a Paddle sandbox account, complete the sign-up form using the following link: https://sandbox-vendors.paddle.com/signup

Having completed the signup form, you will have immediate access to the Paddle dashboard.

Account verification is not required for working in your sandbox. All tasks in this Getting Started section assume that the sandbox is used.

How do I sign up for a Paddle vendor account?

To sign up for a Paddle vendor account, complete the sign-up form using the following link: https://vendors.paddle.com/signup

Here, you must provide information about your business, including the domain to be used for selling, and the type of products you wish to sell.

Having completed the account sign-up form, your unverified Paddle account is created and you have immediate access to your Paddle dashboard for your Live environment.

What is the Paddle dashboard?

The Paddle dashboard is available in both sandbox and Live environments and is your control center for managing your implementation. Here, you can:

• Define global settings (account settings, payout settings, team members, etc.)
• Build and manage your product and subscription catalog
• Build your Paddle checkout
• Manage subscribers
• Access developer tools (API authentication details, webhooks, keys, etc.)
• Access transactions and reports
• Create a sandbox environment for testing
