Your account is the business that customers see on checkouts, invoices, and receipts. Use the account entity to check which account you're authenticated as, and to keep its contact email up to date.
Account entities hold information like:
- The Paddle ID for the account, and a numeric ID to include when you contact Paddle support.
- The registered legal name of the business, which is shown at checkout.
- The name shown to customers on invoices, receipts, and in the customer portal.
- The website for the product or service sold through the account.
- The contact email that Paddle uses for account and payout correspondence.
Your sandbox and live accounts each have their own account entity. How your account is configured, like your default payment link and sales tax setting, is held in settings. To check whether an account is ready for live payments, use verifications.
Using the API, you can only change the contact email. The legal name, display name, and website appear on legal and compliance documents, so only Paddle can change them. Contact Paddle support to update them.
